Armed Burglar Who Targeted Hudson Valley Home Sentenced
An admitted home invasion burglar will spend years behind bars for targeting a residence in the region. Orange County resident Talmadge Leonard, age 28, of Port Jervis, was sentenced to seven years in prison in Orange County Court on Wednesday, March 6. It followed his guilty plea to one count of burglary. Woman From Region Nabbed With 3 Guns On School Grounds, Police Say
A woman from the region was allegedly nabbed with three handguns she had on a high school campus, according to police. Sullivan County resident Amanda Jones, age 38, of Monticello, was arrested by the Village of Liberty Police on Thursday, March 7. According to Chief Steven D'Agata of the Liberty Police, the investigation began when Jones was found to have three handguns during a traffic stop. A man from the region is behind bars for allegedly threatening a police department with violence. Dutchess County resident Michael A. Cavagnolo, age 48, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Tuesday, March 5 in connection with an investigation into threats of violence made against the Town of Hyde Park Police. According to Capt. This story has been updated. A 21-year-old man was killed during a two-car crash after allegedly losing control of his vehicle in the region. The crash occurred in Ulster County around 3:55 p.m., Saturday, March 9 in the town of Ulster on Route 209 south of Sawkill Road.
