Karenderya, a Filipino-inspired fast casual concept loosely based on the country's many roadside eateries, is coming to the Nyack space formerly occupied by Maura's Kitchen.

If all goes according to plan -- husband and wife Owners Paolo Garcia Mendoza and Cheryl Baun have a Kickstarter campaign in place  -- they will open by the end of the month.

The two are all about creating a welcoming community-oriented restaurant with a casual, hip, kid-friendly vibe where diners will order and pick-up at the counter.

According to their Kickstarter page, the menu will include both traditional and modern Filipino dishes -- think kare kare and pork adobo -- and will also reference other Southeast Asian flavors. Many of the dishes will be available in either rice bowls or as sandwiches.

Go HERE for more information. Karenderya  is located at 248 Main St.
