Emily Dominguez

Community Advisor

Born and raised in the Village of Haverstraw in Rockland County, Emily Dominguez embodies the spirit of the small town girl. A North Rockland High School and Seton Hall University graduate, her commitment to her community is one that she learned right at home, from her mom, Marina. When Emily decided to leave the corporate world to start her own public relations and event marketing business there was no question that she would base her business in the Village of Haverstraw. It was a natural progression for Emily to take her dedication of the community to the next level and seek to be a trustee on the Haverstraw Village Board. Now in her 2nd term as a Village Trustee Emily is proud to count among her accomplishments for her community:Commissioner, Building Department & Village Ball FieldFormer Commissioner, Haverstraw Community CenterSecured $100K in Federal funding (Gang Prevention Grant) for a positive approach to youth needs in the Village. This was designed to help the youth most at risk in the Village and hold Village agencies accountable to respond to their needs.Senior & Youth Summer Pilot Program – As part of our summer day camp program our seniors and youth continue to work together on different projects (reading, knitting, gardening, computer classes).   The older youth worked on a video with the seniors about what it was like to grow up and live in Haverstraw.Created a Village News letter, updated our Village website and is currently working on a Campaign promoting the Village of Haverstraw.Working to enhance professional opportunities for women is of upmost importance to Emily. Providing college students with an interest in business and public relations with hands on experience through the College Intern Program at BLU RIVER marketing is something that Emily has been doing for the last seven years.
