STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Come take the plunge Saturday at Lake Welch Beach in Stony Point to help raise money for the Special Olympics.
"Freezin' for a Reason," the Rockland Polar Plunge, will raise money for the 3,500 athletes in the Hudson Valley region who participate in the Special Olympics, reports Lohud.com.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the event starts at noon. Though temperatures could get close to freezing, organizers are hoping the first plunge at the lake will get a warm reception, the story said.
