PATTERSON, N.Y. - Thanks to cold weather, snow making and a nice topping of the real stuff, Patterson's Thunder Ridge Ski Area opened for the first time this season on Friday, and had a good crowd skiing the mountain Saturday.
Skiers traveled from near and far to ski at Thunder Ridge on opening weekend.
