SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- The state has given Spring Valley 30 days to begin inspections of buildings, businesses and schools before the responsibility is handed to another party, reported lohud.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day said the county is ready to start the inspections if necessary, but Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme said that the town does not need outside help, reported lohud.
Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski, Day, and the Rockland Illegal Housing Task Force had worked for over a year to get the state to respond to allegations that Spring Valley had failed to ensure the safety of business, residential, and school buildings, according to lohud.
