Missing Hudson Valley 14-Year-Old Found, Safe

A 14-year-old teen who went missing from his home in Beekman on Sunday, Jan. 15 has been located, state police said Friday morning.

Dakaia Andrew of Beekman was located in the Village of Rhinebeck on Thursday, Jan. 19.

A member of the state police who was on patrol in the Village of Rhinebeck was approached by two Rhinebeck men who recognized Dakaia from a Facebook posting. The Good Samaritans led police to the 14-year-old runaway who has since been reunited with his family.

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police from Poughkeepsie are seeking the public's help in locating a missing 14-year-old boy from Beekman.

Dakaia M. Andrew reportedly ran away from his home on Sunday, Jan. 15, state police said. He is described as being 5-foot-7 and about 130 pounds.

He has brown eyes, black hair and both ears are pierced. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with white lettering, according to police. He is believed to be staying with friends in the Dutchess County area, police said.

Troopers have checked several locations attempting to locate him. Anyone with information regarding his location is asked to contact the New York State Police by calling (845) 677-7300.
