Rockland is set to have its own very own center for the LGBT community.
Rosie O'Donnell, who lives in South Nyack, and Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul were at the center Wednesday to celebrate the upcoming opening of the Rockland Pride Center at South Franklin Street.
The building, which previously housed the Rockland Elks Club, remains under renovation.
O'Donnell had donated $150,000 to the center and Hochul announced a $250,000 grant. O'Donnell announced she plans to donate more money to the center.
The Pride Center will offer support groups, family services, senior care, education and host community events.
