The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 55-year-old Ramon Padro, who has moved to a residence on First Street in Newburgh.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Padro as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Padro had deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with a 26-year-old woman in 1992, physically overpowering her. He was convicted of multiple counts of sodomy and rape in 1994 and sentenced to a term between 100 months and 25 years in prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Newburgh City Police Department.
