STONY POINT, N.Y. --The Stony Point Police Benevolent Society held its Seventh Annual Blood Drive in memory of Jimmy McNichols recently in an effort to raise awareness and to help refill local blood banks.
During the event, 61 pints of blood were donated in McNicholas' memory.
McNicholas was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Pearl River on May 31, 2009. The person who hit the Rockland native has never been found.
The Stony Point PBA said they hope they can help save lives with the donated blood and that some good will come from the tragedy.
