HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Anthony “Cappy” Fiore, 96, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, surrounded by his family.
Born in Haverstraw, Fiore was a World War II Veteran, a two-time prisoner of war, a 70-year member of the Haverstraw Fire Department, Relief Hose Company No. 3.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Sebastian) Fiore; three sisters and three brothers, Mary Rotell (Thomas), Florence Miller (Otto), Anne Courtney (Ted), Louis Fiore, Michael “Joe” (Veronica), Fred Fiore; his son-in-law Carl Allen, and.his wife, Margaret, brothers, sisters and their spouses,
Fiore is survived by his daughters, Joann Accomando (Jerry), Margie Haug (Lance) and Antoinette Allen; six grandchildren, Jerry, Anthony (Angela), Eric (Jamie), Leyna (Roberto), Courtney and Kayla; three great grandchildren, Anthony, Julianna and Kenzie; and sister-in-law, Kathleen Fiore.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 at the at George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main St., Haverstraw. Firemantic Services will be held 7:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Peter’s and St. Mary’s Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Peters Cemetery, Haverstraw.
