Francis E. Wares, 80, Of Haverstraw

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Francis E. Wares, of Haverstraw, died Aug. 13. He was 80.

He was born Nov. 7, 1935.

He was a retired chief warrant officer of the New York State Army National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Wares; daughter, Valerie Wares; and brothers, Charles and Michael Wares.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main St., Haverstraw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters and & St Mary’s Church, 115 Broadway Haverstraw. Interment to follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Road, New Hempstead.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Wares may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
