Gaetano Migliaccio, 87, Of Haverstraw

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. – Gaetano Migliaccio, a resident of Haverstraw, died Thursday, June 2. He was 87.

Born March 23, 1929, in New York City, he was the son of the late Ottavio and the late Rafaella (Variale) Migliaccio.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned a route and delivered bread for Arnold Bread Co. in Rockland County and drove for Peter Brega Bus Co. for many years and continued working as a school bus driver until he passed away. He was past president and treasurer of Filippo Mazzei Italian American Club in New City. He was an avid race pigeon flyer.

He is survived by his children, Camille (Frank) Priest, Tom (Mary) and Peter (Danielle); seven grandchildren, Desiree (Kris), Kieran (Kara), Mia (John), Molly, Tommy, Peyton and Larkyn; great-grandson, Xavier Priest; sister, Marie Malgieri; brother, Jack; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin.

Calling hours will be from 8:30-10 a.m. Monday at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home Inc., 728 W. Nyack Road, West Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Parish of St. Peter/St. Mary in Haverstraw. Burial will be private.
