HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. — Haverstraw resident Mercedes Rivera died Monday, May 2. She was 88.
Rivera was an active member of the New Jersusalem Church in Haverstraw.
Rivera is survived by her children and their spouses, Juan Rivera and his wife Daisy, Yesenia Esposito and her husband Steven and Amalia Mercado. She also is survived by her brother, Juan Whatts; and grandchildren Norberto, Jessica, Alyssa, Kiara, Taina, Miranda, Gianna and Gregory.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Carlos Rivera.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-7 p.m. Thursday followed by an evening service from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday.
All services will be at the New Jerusalem Pentacostal Church, 57 Main St., Haverstraw. The Rev. Domingo Rodriguez and the Rev. Mario Velez will officiate.
