HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Ralph P. Naples, of Haverstraw, died Nov. 9. He was 89.
He was born May 5, 1927, to Mario and Antoinette Napolitano Naples in Saginaw, Mich.
He was a proud World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was superintendent of public works in the Village of Haverstraw, for many years until his retirement. He was sergeant. at arms and a member of the executive board of the Leo Ladders American Legion Post #130. He also was a member of the BPOE Haverstraw Elks Club #877. He was a member of the Rescue Hook and Ladder Co. No.1, Haverstraw Fire Department. He was an active parishioner at St Peters Church in Haverstraw.
He is survived by his daughters, Jean Naples, Christina Roman and husband William and Annette Prizzi and husband John; grandchildren, Nicholas and Daniel Roman, Danielle, John and Evan Prizzi; and sisters, Constance and Nancy.
He was predeceased by his wife; Antoinette Naples; and siblings, Angelo, Frank, Anna and Jean.
Visitation will be from 2- 6 p.m. Sunday at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main St., Haverstraw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St Peters and St Mary’s Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw,. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Peters Cemetery in Haverstraw.
