Drug, Traffic Arrests Top Stony Point Police Report

STONY POINT, N.Y. – Stony Point police arrested several people in connection with various drug- and traffic-related offenses in the past week.

Of those charged, all are men and all are to answer for their alleged crimes in Town Court in April. The incidents reported by police include:

  • A 31-year-old Haverstraw man wanted on an arrest warrant turned himself over to police Thursday, authorities said. Alfonso Guayalla-Caguas, of 21 Broadway, was wanted in connection with a March 2 domestic incident, according to police. He was arrested and arraigned in Town Court, where he was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Guayalla-Caguas was released after posting $500 cash bail. He is to return to court Tuesday, April 5.
  • A Long Island man was arrested Thursday after police pulled him over for a traffic violation and found he was driving with a license that had been suspended seven times, according to authorities. Robert Sicoli, 21, of Selden, had his license suspended numerous times for “failing to pay driver responsibility assessment,” according to police. Sicoli, who faces a misdemeanor count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, was issued several tickets and released without bail. He is to appear in court Tuesday, April 19.
  • A Tomkins Cove man is facing a misdemeanor count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after police pulled him over for a traffic violation and found his driver’s license had been twice suspended, according to police. William Callahan, 58, of 4 Katavolos Drive, was arrested March 12 and issued several traffic tickets, according to police. He was released without bail and ordered to appear in court April 19.
  • A 22-year-old Haverstraw man was arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday after police found him with 13.1 grams of marijuana, according to authorities. Officers found that Oscar Garcia of 74 W. Broad St. was wanted on an arrest warrant in Haverstraw charging him with a misdemeanor count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Garcia, who faces a count of unlawful possession of marijuana in Stony Point, was turned over to Haverstraw police. He is to appear in Stony Point Town Court April 19.
  • Nicholas Graham, 29, of Brooklyn, faces a misdemeanor count of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after he was found driving a commercial vehicle with a driver’s license that had been suspended nine times. Graham, who was arrested Tuesday, was issued several tickets and released after posting $100 cash bail. He is to appear in court Thursday, April 21.
  • A 24-year-old Garnerville man was arrested March 12 after police found he had been driving with a license that had twice been suspended for failing to answer to a summons in Ulster County, according to police. Branden Williams faces a misdemeanor count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to police. He was arrested, issued several traffic tickets and released without bail, according to police. Williams is to appear in court April 19.
