STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Garnerville man, wanted on drug charges in Georgia, was arrested in Stony Point by local authorities investigating the theft of a pocketbook and other items, police said.
Anthony J. Friedman, 28, faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; and false impersonation by issuing a false written statement, police said.
He was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
Police said that Friedman was accused of staling a pocketbook, credit card, and other things.
While he was being arrested, police said, he falsely identified himself.
Friedman was wanted by Atlanta authorities on charges of selling and possessing methamphetamine, police said.
He was arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail, police said.
He faces extradition to Georgia to answer the charges there.
