HAVERSTRAW, N. Y. -- A 36-year-old Haverstraw man is facing assault and resisting arrest charges after he tried to flee Haverstraw police by running into a Garnerville house, then injured police as they tried to arrest him on charges of possessing stolen property, according to lohud.com.
Donny Santana, of Broad Street, is being held in Rockland County Jail on felony charges of second-degree assault and resisting arrest. Police were trying to arrest him on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property, lohud.com reports.
Officers saw him on Bridge Street in Garnerville on July 1 when he ran into a nearby home then fled through the back door. When police caught up with him, two officers were injured trying to take him into custody, lohud.com says.
