ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man and his dog died Monday after being pulled from a house fire in the hamlet of Connelly, according to TWC News.
Ulster County firefighters, along with help from other departments, pulled the unidentified elderly man from the house around 2:30 a.m., several minutes after they arrived on scene. He was taken to Kingston Hospital with burns and smoke inhalation, and he died shortly after, said TWC News.
Due to smoke and flames, it took firefighters longer to reach the dog, who also died. The cause of the fire at the two-story home is under investigation, added TWC News.
