Police Use Narcan To Save Overdose Victim In Wallkill

Some fast-thinking police officers in Orange County helped save a man’s life using Narcan to prevent a fatal overdose.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, officers were dispatched to an Emergency Medical Services call at Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Center on Galleria Drive, where there were reports of a man possibly suffering from an overdose.

Police said that upon arrival, officers found a 44-year-old Grahamsville man unconscious on the floor, demonstrating signs of an alleged overdose. The officers, with an assist by first responders from the Goshen Police Department proceeded to administer first aid to the man, including administration of department issued, nasally delivered Narcan.

After being treated, police said that the victim regained consciousness and was transported to the Orange Regional Medical Center by the Town of Wallkill EMS for additional treatment.
