The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Rockland County residents regarding the residency of 75-year-old Garland Harris, who has moved into an apartment on Orange Turnpike in Sloatsburg.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Harris as a Level 2 threat, which means he is a "moderate risk of a repeat offense."
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Harris had sexual contact with his 13-year-old victim in Ramapo on Dec. 1, 1996. He was arrested by the Ramapo Town Police Department and sentenced to between 42 months and seven years in state prison.
