Stony Point Police Report Series Of Traffic Arrests

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Stony Point police reported making a number of traffic arrests this month, including one of a 39-year-old local man.

Azuka B. Tuke, of Wayne Avenue, was arrested on Friday, Aug. 26, and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

Tuke’s license had been revoked after 17 suspensions, police said.

He is to appear in court on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Other traffic arrests include these:

  • Robert Sullivan, 60, of Jenkins Avenue, was charged Wednesday, Aug. 24, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. Sullivan’s license had been suspended three times for failing to answer a summons, police said. He is to appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 15.
  • Mary Campbell, 54, of Swim Club Lane, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 22, and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. Her license had been revoked for failing to submit to a chemical test, police said. She is to appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 15.
  • Megan A. Verde, 25, of Tomkins Avenue, was charged on Friday, Aug. 19, with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. Her license had been suspended, but police did say why. Verde is to appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 15.
  • Angelo Savage, 35, of Chestnut Ridge Road, Chestnut Ridge, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 18, and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. Savage’s license had been suspended seven times for for failing to answer a summons, police said. He is to appear in court on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
  • Nicholoi Bennett, 25, of Wilmot Terrace, Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said. His license had been suspended, but police didn’t say why. He was to have appeared in court on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The following arrests didn’t involve traffic cases:

  • James Casserly, 42, of Cragmere Drive, New City, was arrested Friday, Aug. 19, on a parole violation charge, police said. Casserly was arrested by police investigating a report of a suspicious person. He was wanted on an active warrant out of the state Department of Corrections. He is awaiting pick up by the state Division of Parole, police said.
  • Erica Polanco, 31, of West Street, Haverstraw, was charged with harassment on Wednesday, Aug. 24, police said. Polanci, who was wanted on an active warrant out of Haverstraw, was turned over to police there.
