Stony Point Woman, 46, Forges Ex-Husband's Business Check, Police Say

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Stony Point woman was charged Wednesday with stealing more than $2,000 from her ex-husband by forging a check, according to the Stony Point Police Department.

Michelle Squillante was charged with stealing a business check from her ex-husband and cashing it for more than $2,000.

Michelle Squillante, 46, was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, criminal possession of stolen property and grand larceny after the department received a complaint on Sunday, Nov. 1, regarding a stolen business check, said Lt. Keith Williams.

According to the investigation following the complaint, police found that Squillante had stolen the check, forged his name and cashed it for $2,195.04 without his permission, Williams said.

Squillante was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
