ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Stony Point teen was nabbed hiding in the bushes after fleeing from police for stealing from a Kohl's store in Nanuet, according to Stony Point Police.
Kristen Patyi, 19, was arrested Sunday after an alert patrol officer heard a radio broadcast from the Clarkstown Police notifying local departments they were looking for a vehicle involved in a larceny at the Kohl’s store in Nanuet, said Stony Point Police Lt. Daniel Hylas.
The officer saw the suspected vehicle which had turned off Route 210 around 7:30 p.m., and onto a side road with the driver quickly leaving the car parked on the street. The officer knowing the car did not belong in the area, checked the wooded area off Pymm Court and located Patyi hiding in the bushes, Hylas said.
Once captured, officers found that her license was suspended and she was being sought by Clarkstown Police for the larceny investigation, he added.
She was processed and turned over to Clarkstown Police. She is due to appear in court on Jan. 4, 2018.
