CLARKSTOWN, N. Y. -- Two Rockland County men are facing drug possession charges after New York State Police stopped their car on the New York State Thruway in Clarkstown and found mushrooms laced with the hallucinogenic drug psilocybin, police said.

Brian Daly, 38, of Suffern, and Michael Toomey, 46, of Congers, are both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Daly was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, police said.

Both were arraigned in Clarkstown Town Court and are being held in the Rockland County Jail, police said.

Troopers made the arrest Monday after stopping their car for vehicle and traffic law violations, police said. In addition, Toomey had an active warrant for assault from Clarkstown police, state police said.
