New York State Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) announced Tuesday that he has been appointed the chairman of the New York State Senate’s Consumer Protection Committee.
“Any business, utility or corporation that takes advantage of its consumers is put on notice that scams and injustice will not be tolerated," Carlucci said. "Making sure that consumers and businesses have an honest relationship is critical for economic success and I will use every asset at my disposal to protect the interests of consumers throughout New York."
Carlucci, the youngest member of the Senate, said he plans on conducting hearings in the Hudson Valley as well as other parts of the state to fight for practical solutions on behalf of all consumers.
“It is always a positive when a local representative gets appointed to head up a statewide committee. We are confident that the senator will bring added resources to protect Rockland consumers," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day.
