Skoufis Holds On, Defeats Schmitt In 99th Assembly District

Democratic incumbent James Skoufis held on to defeat Republican challenger Colin Schmitt in the 99th Assembly District race.

According to unofficial election results 26,517 votes were cast for Skoufis while Schmitt earned 24,041 votes. 

Skoufis is a two-term assemblyman while Schmitt, a member of the Army National Guard and a former staff member of Sen. Greg Ball, is seeking his first term.

Stony Point is the only portion of Rockland included in Assembly District 99.
