“We’re very thankful to have been recognized by one of Rockland’s most essential organizations,” said Matthew Rand, Managing Partner of Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty. “Leadership Rockland has molded some of the county’s most notable trailblazers, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the organization’s dedication towards building a better Rockland County.”
Leadership Rockland is a program that takes approximately 25-30 students every year, and then holds monthly classes from September to June. Each session is formatted to teach the students about a different aspect of Rockland’s infrastructure, such as criminal justice and public safety, healthcare and emergency services, history, economic impact and development, and multicultural communities.
Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty is also proud to announce the manager of their Nyack office, Jamie Branigan, has the distinction of being among the newest Leadership Rockland graduates.
“Leadership Rockland is such an amazing and prestigious program, and it’s an honor and a privilege to have had the opportunity to be a part of it,” said Branigan. “With the contacts I’ve made and knowledge I’ve attained, I will strive to make a difference and be more proactive in the community, and my first area of focus will be the improvement of the East Ramapo Central School District.”
“Leadership Rockland is thrilled to honor Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty as our 2016 Business Leader of the Year,” said Daniel Weisberg, Chair of Leadership Rockland and Administrative Lieutenant for the Town of Clarkstown Police Department. “Each year, we recognize one individual and one business that have demonstrated commitment to both Leadership Rockland and the community, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving recipient for this award.
“As a long-time supporter of our organization, Rand Realty has had several of their team members participate in the program and serve as program coordinators and members of our Board of Directors,” said Weisberg. “We have worked with several individuals from their company, and they all bring an enthusiastic attitude to the table that is a model of behavior many seek to emulate.”
