Hudson Water Club In West Haverstraw Ranks Among DVlicious Finalists

WEST HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- It’s hard to resist the summertime combo of sipping and noshing outdoors. All you need is some sun (or shade) and your choice of a secluded patio, sidewalk seating or a rooftop deck -- and someone else doing the cooking, cleaning and serving.

The mighty Hudson rolls serenely by while diners at the Hudson Water Club in West Haverstraw enjoy contemporary American cuisine -- with an emphasis on seafood -- cooked up by a C.I.A.-trained chef.

Hudson Water Club, West Haverstraw

Why It's Outdoor Worthy: Besides the views of the magnificent Hudson River from its deck, the club’s amenities include a tiki bar with live music, DJs and dancing. The are eight free slips, so boaters can dock and dine at no charge. And if the weather is not cooperating, folks can move inside to the club’s glass-walled dining room where they can still take in the scenery while they scarf down P.E.I. mussels fra diablo and lobster mac and cheese made by a C.I.A.-trained chef. Or they can stay outside -- the club has a clear, plastic awning that it rolls down to keep the raindrops at bay.
