What Makes It Pasta Perfect: A diner-sized menu with 15 pasta alla Posa Posa dishes alone, including: Ziti Aum Aum (eggplant and mozzarella), Rigatoni della Nonna (meat sauce, ricotta and peas), Rigatoni Modo Mio (grilled chicken, crumbled sausage, fresh tomatoes and spinach in a pink sauce.)

Posa Posa, as part of the Steps to a Healthier New York Program, worked with Rockland County nutritionist Michelle Kleinman to determine which menu items were the healthiest. Look for the heart symbols. Among them are ziti with broccoli, minestrone soup, clams in a white wine and garlic sauce and grilled salmon. They even work with Weight Watchers to tell customers how many "points" certain menu items are.

Worth Special Mention: The owners, who opened Posa Posa in 1984, pride themselves on authentic Italian cuisine with a family-oriented atmosphere. Share a pie with the family on the lively pizza side, or have a romantic date night in its quieter dining room. Close to a dozen types of pie, including deep-dish: chicken, bacon and ranch, Fisherman Pizza (shrimp, mussels, clams and garlic), Buffalo chicken, and penne alla vodka. Yelpers rave about its Fresca pie (Sicilian style crust with zucchini, onions, fresh tomatoes and fresh mushrooms.)
