The siblings -- Yanelly Peralta of Stony Point; Eddy Peralta of Stony Point; Carmen Martinez of Haverstraw; Jose Peralta of West Haverstraw, and Deyanira Peralta of Haverstraw -- said they took turns buying the tickets each week.

“We have been playing almost every week now. Sometimes we play the for-life scratch-off games too,” said Yannelly. “Eddy bought this ticket. He called me and told me to check the numbers; he didn’t say anything else. So I checked the website and saw we won. I called him back and said, ‘Now I know why you told me to check.’”

Yanelly said they were surprised and grateful: “Even if we won $10, we would be grateful.”

The winning numbers were 04-08-19-27-34 and Powerball 10. The siblings will each receive their prize in a one-time lump sum amount of $200,000, netting them each $132,360 after required withholdings.

The siblings said they plan to use their winnings to pay bills, save for college and take a family vacation.

The New York Lottery contributed $29,982,316 in Lottery Aid To Education to school districts throughout Rockland County during fiscal year 2014-2015. The Lottery’s contribution represents 14 percent of total state education aid to local school districts.
