NORTH ROCKLAND, N.Y. -- A deal to sell the troubled Summit Park Hospital and Nursing Care Center for $32 million fell through last week, according to lohud.com.
Crucial to the county's financial issues, officials announced they plan to close the hospital after the planned buyer, Sympaticare LLC, chose to walk away from the deal, lohud.com said.
Officials said they were working with the state Department of Health to develop a plan for either transferring or discharging patients, the story said. The county said they will need to find facilities for 182 nursing home residents and place for another 67 patients attending the hospital adult day care program, lohud.com reported.
In addition to the patient issue, more than 430 employees will lose their jobs, lohud.com said.
