Children were peering wistfully through windows, waiting to get out and make snowmen and snow angels, while sturdier souls were calculating snow totals in anticipation of a cleanup.

When it all ended overnight, the snow totals were staggering, with well over a foot throughout Rockland. Stony Point reported 17 inches at 8:30 p.m. and New City 16 inches at 9 p.m.

Transport of Rockland (TOR) buses resume regular Sunday service at 8 a.m. Loops 1, 2, 3 start at 10 a.m. Sunday.
