Andrew Verhille, 25, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possessing a hypodermic instrument after police received a complaint from a business owner at the Stony Point Plaza on Route 9W that they couldn't quite understand, said Lt. Keith Williams.

"There was a language barrier and once officers arrived they were able to be directed to Verhille who was sitting in his car, with the drugs and the needles," Williams said.

Verhille was arrested earlier in the morning, for DWAI (Drugs) as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

He was again released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15.
