The disappearance of 20-year-old Dawn Marie Marino from Orange County in 1981 has not been forgotten by the New York State Police and they are asking for the public's help in solving the decades old cold case.
On May 16, 1981, Marino was last seen standing in the parking lot of the Corner Tavern Bar located near the intersection of Liberty Corners Road and County Route 1 in Pine Island, a hamlet in the town of Warwick.
On October 31, 1987, Marino’s remains were found on property located on Little York Road in the Town of Warwick. Her remains were found five miles from where she was last seen alive, police said.
Hundreds of leads have been investigated and interviews have been conducted, however, the case remains unsolved and under investigation.
"The cold cases are never forgotten and by putting them up in social media and in the news we hope to trigger something in someone's memory," said State Investigator William Fuller. "There's always hope we will solve the case."
