A 28-year-old woman and her boyfriend have been arrested for the reckless assault of a 6-week-old child, state police say.
Nashawanna Reynold, of Liberty, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 14, following a month-long investigation by the New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Sullivan County along with Child Protective Services, said Trooper Steven Nevel.

A woman was arrested after a 7-year-old left home alone on Long Island allegedly started two fires.
Nora Soto-Cordova, 32, of Northampton in Suffolk County, was arrested at 10:45 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, after Southampton Police responded to a residence in Northampton for a house fire, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.
Officers spoke to a resident who found a fire had been started in his bedroom and another in the kitchen area, Ralph said.
