Covid-19: Long Island Sees 1,800-Plus New Cases; Here's Latest Breakdown By Community
There were 1,834 newly confirmed COVID-19 reported on Long Island as both Nassau and Suffolk Counties continue to combat the second wave of the virus that's swept through the fall.
According to the latest data from the state Department of Health, There were 1,075 new cases in Suffolk, bringing the total to 72,118 since the pandemic began, while an additional 759 infections were reported in Nassau, as the total reached 68,737 as of Friday, Dec. 11.
Overall infection rates of those tested on Long Island held steady at 4.3 percent in Nassau and 4.4 percent in Suffolk.

5-Month-Old Tests Positive For Covid-19 In Montgomery County, Hospitals Severely Strained
Montgomery County's hospitals haven't seen numbers like this before.
As of Wednesday, Dec. 9, the county's hospitals had 539 people with COVID-19, according to Dr. Val Arkoosh, chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
Additionally, 239 cases were reported since Tuesday, Dec. 8. Among them, a 5-year-old baby and a 95-year-old individual, Arkoosh said.

There were 1,680 newly confirmed COVID-19 reported in both Suffolk and Nassau counties as Long Island continues to contend with the second wave of the virus.
According to the state Department of Health, There were 972 new cases in Suffolk, bringing the total to 69,996 since the pandemic began, while an additional 708 infections were reported in Nassau, as the total reached 67,203 as of Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The current seven-day average infection rate has now soared past 5 percent for the first time since the spring, hitting 5.7 percent on Wednesday.

Covid-19: Here's Latest CT Positive-Test Rate, New Rundown Of Cases By Communities, Counties
The latest positive rate of those being tested for COVID-19 in Connecticut is 6.61 percent.
The new data released late Monday afternoon, Dec. 7 covers Friday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 6.
A total of 23,021 tests were administered during that time, with 8,129 coming back positive (6.61 percentage).
A total of 1,183 patients are currently hospitalized statewide, an increase of 33.
There were 78 COVID additional deaths over the weekend.
