Shamika Bodino, a 32-year-old mom from Monmouth County, died at home on Wednesday, July 3, according to her obituary on the Clayton Funeral Home site.
Shamika, of Freehold and formerly Toms River and Manchester, earned her master's degree in social work and went on to work as a foster care support clinician at the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County, according to her obituary.

Foster Parents Charged With Felonies For Years Of Child Abuse: PSP Gettysburg
Two foster parents have been charged with felonies for abusing a young boy in their care for years, the Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Steven Francis Selby, 64, and Kelly Marie Selby, 50, both of Lake Meade Road, East Berlin, Latimore Township were arrested on Feb. 16, Trooper Loder detailed in the release.
They are accused of physically assaulting a 13-year-old "over a period of years," as stated in the release.

Two women were found guilty of child endangerment charges stemming from an incident in which an 8-year-old boy was found locked in a room in "abhorrent" conditions, authorities in Ocean County said.
After a week-long jury trial before the Superior Court Judge Lisa A. Puglisi, the jury concluded beyond a reasonable doubt that Donna Jung, 57, of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Helecia Morris, 41, of Brick Township, abused and neglected a minor in their care, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A baby boy in Baltimore has been abducted from his foster family by his mother, authorities say.
Raven Harris, 28, abducted Legend Parham, 1, from the custody of his foster parents in the 500 block of Laurens Street around 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 2, according to Baltimore police.
Harris fled with Parham in an unknown sedan and the two have not been seen since.

11-Month-Old Girl Abducted In Bridgeport Found Safe, Police Say
An 11-month-old girl who was abducted in Fairfield County allegedly by her father has been found safe.
Jalayjah Douglas, of New Haven, who was "kidnapped" by her father on Friday, April 8 in Bridgeport, was found safe on the west side of the city on Saturday, April 9, said Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police.
The child, currently in foster care, was visiting the Bridgeport area when her biological father, identified as James Lamont Douglas, age 30, of Bridgeport "decided to take his daughter from the legal guardian without permission or the legal right to do so," Gilleran said.
