Driver, 31, Arrested At Airport After Fleeing To Turkey In Deadly Route 46 Crash: Prosecutor A 31-year-old Wayne man was identified as the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Parsippany before fleeing the scene and then trying to flee the country last month, authorities said. Davut Batca was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 when he struck Jelson Cabrera, 35, of Trenton, on Route 46 West near Sandra Drive just before 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said. Upmc Nurse Killed In PA Rt 283 Crash: Lancaster County Coroner A 33-year-old UPMC registered nurse has died after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on PA Route 283, authorities announced on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Former Teacher Accused Of Touching, Kissing Student At High School In Westchester A retired music teacher of more than two decades faces criminal charges after allegedly taking a student behind a high school auditorium curtain in Westchester and kissing them, officials announced. 23-Year-Old Hit, Killed By Lirr Train A 23-year-old Long Island man was killed after he was struck by a Long Island Railroad train. According to David Steckel with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Christopher Reitzel, of Medford, was hit by LIRR Train 64 at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, west of the Sayville Train station when he was on the tracks without authorization. EMS transported Reitzel to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, MTA said. New Details Emerge After Person Found Shot Dead On Roadway In Wantagh New details have been released after a man was found dead on Long Island overnight. Officers responding to Wayside Lane in Wantagh at around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, located the person on the side of the road who had sustained a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene. In a new update, police say the person has been identified as a 32-year-old from Amityville. His identity has not yet been released. Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car On Route 23 A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
